    Skardu-Khaplu-Shigar

    Skardu: Skardu is the main town of the Skardu District and serves as the gateway to some of the most popular tourist destinations in the region, including Shangrila Resort, Upper Kachura Lake, and Shigar Valley. Skardu is surrounded by towering peaks, including some of the world’s highest mountains like K2, the second-highest peak in the world. The Shigar River flows through Skardu, adding to the beauty of the area. The town also has a vibrant local bazaar where you can find handicrafts, local products, and experience the culture of the region.

    Khaplu: Khaplu is another beautiful town located in the Ghanche District of Gilgit-Baltistan. It’s known for its stunning landscapes, historical sites, and traditional architecture. The Khaplu Palace, a historic fort-palace, is a major attraction in the area. It has been converted into a hotel and offers visitors a chance to experience the royal heritage of the region.     Shigar: Shigar is a valley and town located about 23 kilometers away from Skardu. The Shigar Valley is renowned for its natural beauty, historical sites, and serene environment. The Shigar Fort, also known as Fong-Khar, is a centuries-old fort that has been transformed into a heritage guesthouse. It’s a popular place for tourists to stay and experience the rich history of the region. The Shigar River flows through the valley, surrounded by fruit orchards and traditional houses.
